Five members of the Colorado College women's lacrosse team - including three first-team selections - were named to the 2008 all-West Region teams by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
Senior attacker
Mallory Newton, senior defender
Brittany Roy and sophomore midfielder Kristen Rider were named to the first team and are eligible for inclusion on the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-America Teams. Junior midfielder

Gioia Garden received second-team recognition.
Newton earned all-region honors for the third time in her career after being named to the second team in 2006 and 2007. She led the Tigers with career highs of 34 goals and 48 points, and also had a career-best 14 assists. Newton finished her career ranked No. 7 with 112 career goals and tied for No.7 with 144 career points.
Roy anchored the Tiger defense, posting career highs of 25 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers, which ranked third and fourth on the team, respectively.
Rider was one of CC's best two-way players and one of only five underclassmen to earn first-team honors. She led the team with 58 draw controls, 33 ground balls and 20 caused turnovers. At the offensive end, Rider had a team-high 15 assists and was second with 30 goals and 45 points, all of which were career highs.
Dougherty was fourth on the team with 21 goals and 28 points, both of which were career highs. She was also second with 24 draw controls and tied for fifth with 10 caused turnovers.
Garden was one of only four freshmen to earn all-region honors and CC's first since All-American Helen Sneath in 2003. Offensively, she ranked third on the team with 23 goals and 29 points. At the defensive end, Garden was second with 28 ground balls and tied for second with 14 caused turnovers.
The Tigers completed the 2008 campaign with a 10-3 record, the fifth consecutive season they have recorded double-digit victories.
