Hamilton named Division I equipment manager

Gord ‘Spud’ Hamilton, a veteran of the professional and junior hockey ranks in both the United States and Canada, was named equipment manger for Colorado College’s two Division I programs, director of athletics Ken Ralph announced today.
Hamilton will begin his duties with the CC hockey and women’s soccer teams on Aug. 7.
Most recently the equipment manager for the San Antonio Rampage, the top farm club of the National Hockey League’s Phoenix Coyotes, Hamilton brings 26 years of experience to the Colorado College athletics department.
Hamilton started his career at age 15 and has worked for the Augusta Lynx of the East Coast Hockey League, the Elmira Jackals of the United Hockey League and the El Paso Buzzards of the former Western Professional Hockey League. He also spent seven seasons in the Ontario Hockey League, four with the Sarnia Sting and three with the Newmarket/Cornwall Royals.
Hamilton, a 1991 graduate of Sheridan College in Oakville, Ont., is member of the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers.
He succeeds Ed Warner, who passed away on June 11.
