The Colorado College men's cross country team took third place out of 10 teams at the 2008 Colorado College Invitational on Saturday morning at North Monument Valley Park.
The Adams State College junior varsity team placed five runners in the top 10 to finish with 23 points and run away with the team title in the 8K race. Garden City Community College took second place with 56, followed by CC with 78. Division I Northern Colorado was fourth with 100 points.
Max Gerken claimed 18th in a time of 29:11, while
David Wilder closed out CC's scoring with a 23rd-place finish in a time of 29:51.
Avancio Matrinez, an unattached runner, won the individual title in a time of 25:46. Adams State's Florian Theopile was the top collegiate runner with a time of 26:31.
Colorado College will be idle until Oct. 4 when the Tigers travel to the University of Colorado in Boulder for the 2008 Rocky Mountain Shootout.
