2008 Rust-Buster Invitational Results
The women's cross country team finished fourth out of five teams at the CU-Colorado Springs Rust Buster Invitational on Saturday at Monument Valley Park despite competing with a lineup consisting of all first-year runners.
UCCS won the 4K event with 27 points, followed by Mesa State College (51), Colorado School of Mines (51), Colorado College (105), Colorado State-Pueblo (146) and the CSM track club (166)
Margot Cutter led the Tigers with a time of 16:44, which was good for 17th place out of 47 runners. CC's next three runners were separated by just 29 seconds.
Claire Daniel finished 22nd in a time of 17:10, which was nine seconds ahead of
Megan Hurster, who came home in 26th.
Emily McCarthy took 28th with a time of 17:39, while
Rebecca Thompson broke the 18-minute barrier in 17:56 for a 31st-place finish. Tiffany Calbaza was just four seconds behind in 32nd place.
Colorado College will be at full strength next Saturday when the entire team competes in the Colorado State University Cross-country Classic in Fort Collins.
