Sixty one Colorado College student-athletes earned a spot on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll for excellence in the classroom during the 2008 Fall Semester.
To earn the distinction, a student-athlete had to maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the semester and be a member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.
The men's soccer and football teams had the most players recognized with 13 apiece, while the men's cross country and volleyball teams had 12 members honored. The women's cross country team had nine runners on the list.
Conference wide, a record 776 student-athletes earned a spot on the Fall Academic Honor Roll. This year's total eclipsed last year's record of 715 student-athletes. Since its inception in the fall of 1997, more than 13,700 student-athletes have been recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom.
