Senior forward Emily Beans, who leads the Tigers with six goals and three game winners heading into Friday's regular-season finale against UTEP, has earned regional all-academic recognition from the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The product of Griffith, Ind., was named this week to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 First Team in the University Division, and now advances to the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.

Currently fourth on CC's all-time chart with 30 tallies during her collegiate career, Beans is majoring in biology and owns a cumulative grade-point average of 3.68. Her 66 points overall ranks sixth highest in the history of the program.

A two-time All-Conference USA selection, she was voted the league's Freshman of the Year as a rookie in 2006.
