Colorado College had 10 different swimmers post a top-three finish on Saturday, but the Tigers came out on the short end of a 135-126 decision against the Colorado School of Mines.
Carrie Markel won three freestyle events, taking the 200-yard free in 2:04.07, the 100 in a time of 57.25 and the 500 in 5:34.92.
Whitney Petersen took first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.24 and second in the 200 back in 2:21.04.
In her first collegiate meet, Mindy Stinchfield led CC to a sweep of the top three spots in the 50 free, finishing 1.45 seconds ahead of Katie Burns in a time of 26.26. Anya Arndt was only .26 seconds behind in third. Stinchfield also took second in the 100 free.
Leore Geller took the 400 individual medley with a time of 5:39.87.
Karen Rasmussen recorded a pair of second-place finished in the breaststroke events, posting a time of 1:16.32 in the 100 and 2:46.01 in the 200.
In the 1-meter diving, Nicole Fazio finished 3.15 points behind CSM's Sarah Moore with 238.95 points.
CC's other top-three finished were turned in by Julie Rubenstein, who's time of 1:05.91 was good for second place in the 100 butterfly, and Andrea Tukan, who was third in the 200 back with a time of 2:29.01.
Colorado College will participate in the “Hour of Power Relay,” a national fundraiser to raise money and awareness for sarcoma research, from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday night at CC's Schlessman Natatorium.
The Tigers' next meet is on Nov. 19 at Wheaton College.
