Led by sophomore Margot Cutter, who claimed 27th place individually with a 4K clocking of 17: 05.03, the young CC women finished fifth in a field of eight teams Friday at the University of Colorado Springs Rust-Buster Invitational in Monument Valley Park.

Four other Tigers – Megan Hurster, Molly McGee, Becca Thompson and Devin Nadar – wound up among the top 40 runners in the meet. All four were within two seconds of each other as Hurster took 37th with a time of 17:12.72, McGee was 38th at 17:13.35, Thompson 39th at 17:14.08 and Nadar 40th at 17:14.62.

All except McGee, who is a junior, are sophomores.

Colorado College now takes a week off before resuming action at its own CC Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 19.
