Led by sophomore
Carrie Markel and freshman Julia Rubenstein, the Colorado College women finished fifth at the California Lutheran University Relays in Thousand Oaks, Calif., on Wednesday.
Markel and Rubenstein each swam legs in CC's best events – the 400-yard medley (4:32.21) and 150-yard breaststroke (1:47.05) – where the Tigers splashed to fourth-place showings.
In addition, Rubenstein teamed up with
Katie Burns and
Whitney Petersen to claim fifth in the 150-yard butterfly.
Colorado College scored 230 points in the meet, which was dominated by the University of Puget Sound (416). Host school Cal Lutheran (320) was a distant second behind UPS, followed by Whitman College (308) and Lewis & Clark College (274).
