DeGayner paces Tigers at CC Classic

Jordan DeGayner took first place in the 100-yard butterfly and posted the team's season-best mark in the 200 individual medley to pace Colorado College on Day 2 of the 12th Annual CC Classic at Schlessman Natatorium.

DeGayner finished .11 seconds ahead of Siarhei Piletski from the Colorado School of Mines to take the 100 fly in a time of 53.00.

He took third in the 200 individual medley, claiming third place by touching the wall in 2:02.14, and finished the day by teaming with Tom Grossinger, Jeff Nadel and Toby McGuire for a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a season-best time of 1:41.55.

Grossinger claimed fourth in the 100 backstroke in 56.73 and posted CC's season-best mark of 22.88 in the 50 freestyle while winning the 'B' final.

Devin Wahl and Will Bowers grabbed ninth-place finishes by winning the consolation final in the 500 free and 100 back, respectively.

Joseph Shaner finished third on the 1-meter board with 293.55 points.

CSM owns a commanding 587.5-341 lead over the University of Colorado club team. Colorado College is third in the six-team field with 207 points.

The CC Classic concludes with 14 events on Sunday. Prelims begin at 9 a.m., followed by the finals at 3 p.m.
