The Colorado College Athletics Department will celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Jan. 30, with a full slate of activities in conjunction with its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference basketball games against DePauw University.
CC's sixth annual celebration begins at 4:45 p.m. with an exposition in the Great Hall of the El Pomar Sports Center, followed by interactive sports clinics at 5:15 p.m. Activity stations will include yoga, soccer and volleyball, and each participant will receive a Prowler's Passport to “Stay Strong and Play On.”
Young girls also will have the opportunity to meet Colorado College student-athletes and coaches, collect autographs from the Tigers and learn what it is like to be a collegiate athlete. Organizations such as CorePower Yoga also will be in attendance.
The featured event will be the women's basketball game at 6 p.m.
There is no charge for any of the day's activities.
National Girls & Women in Sports Day is celebrated in all 50 states with community-based events, awards ceremonies and activities honoring the achievements and encouraging participation of girls and women in sports.
