Nicole Fazio recorded the highest-ever finish for a Colorado College diver at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships by taking third place on the 1-meter board on Saturday.
Fazio recorded a season-best 398.20 points and met the NCAA “B” qualifying score for the third time this season. She finished 13.35 points ahead of Trinity's Ruth Hahn and broke up TU's domination of the top eight spots.
Fazio's performance was the highest for the Tigers at this season's championships and helped CC move up one place for a sixth-place finish with 294 points.
Trinity University won the women's title with 914 points, followed by DePauw University (865.5), Centre College (681), Sewanee (420) and Rhodes College (351.5).
Colorado College closed out the meet with its best finish in a relay when Julia Rubinstein, Carrie Markel, Whitney Petersen and Katie Burns teamed up for a fifth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:42.56.
Markel had the day's top individual result by claiming ninth in the 1,650-yard free, touching the wall in 18:26.95.
The Tigers posted season-best scores in five of six events on the final day of the meet.
