Rose, Ohlsen earn all-SCAC honors

Nick Rose was rewarded for his breakout season by becoming the first player from Colorado College to earn first-team honors on the all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball team.

Brady Ohlsen also earned all-SCAC accolades for the first time as a third-team selection.

Rose, who led the conference in scoring by averaging 21.9 points per game, received two votes for SCAC Player of the Year.

The junior guard also led the conference in free-throw percentage (.875) and minutes played, finished seventh in steals (40) and field-goal percentage (.453), seventh in 3-point field goals made (47) and ninth in 3-point field goal percentage (.362), and 11th in rebounds (144).

Rose finished the season with 548 points, which ranks ninth on CC's all-time single-season list. He also set career highs for assists and steals.

Rose scored 30 or more points six times, including a career-high 34 during the Tigers' 93-89 victory over Austin College on Jan. 9, which tied him for the highest single-game total of the season.

Ohlsen ranked third in the SCAC in rebounds (8.1 pg) and blocked shots (1.9 pg), 10th in free-throw percentage (.587) and 13th in scoring (13.0).

His .559 field-goal percentage would have led the conference, but he was one made basket short of the qualifying mark.

Ohlsen led the team in rebounding 17 times and in scoring on four occasions. He also posted a team-high six double-doubles (points-rebounds).

Ohlsen's 202 rebounds ranks No. 14 on CC's single-season list, while his total of 47 blocked shots is third.

Colorado College finished the season with a 12-13 record.
