Tiger Soccer's sixth annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction is close at hand, as the CC women's program and Phantom Canyon Brewing Company serve as co-hosts of the big event this Friday, April 9.

The yearly fundraiser, which will feature light hors d'oeuvres along with various wine selections from renowned regions in California, Argentina, Australia, France and Italy, starts at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

The team has received nearly 40 donations for its silent auction, scheduled to remain open for bidding from 7:45 until 9:45 p.m. The list includes many attractive items such as Ralph Lauren gear from the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, lift tickets for the 2010-11 ski season, sports packages from the Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Springs Sky Sox, overnight stays with meals at Hyatt Place and the Antlers HIlton, a week's lodging at a condominium in Breckenridge, and six weeks of group training at Max Performance/Spectrum Wellness, to mention just a few. 

Head coach Geoff Bennett and his staff invite you to attend.

"Through the years this has become a 'can't miss' event where friends, fans and family can all meet in a spectacular setting at the Phantom Canyon Brewing Company," Bennett said. "We hope that you are able to attend this year's event and will support the continued growth of women's soccer at Colorado College. We look forward to seeing you there."

The event also will include "balloon popping" for almost 150 more prizes in addition to the slient-auction items.
