DeGayner concludes NCAA meet with 100 free

Jordan DeGayner completed his first appearance at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships with a 23rd-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle on Saturday morning at the University of Minnesota's Aquatic Center.

DeGayner's time of 46.21 was only .36 behind the last qualifying time for Saturday night's consolation final and just .15 seconds off his school record set at last month's Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championships.

Kenyon's Zachary Turk won the 100 free with a time of 43.81.

DeGayner finished among the top 23 in all three of his events, including his ninth-place effort in Thursday's 200 free.

“I am very proud of the way Jordan represented the Tigers this week, and congratulate him on scoring in his first NCAA Championships,” head coach Anne Goodman James said. “It was great to get Colorado College on the team scoreboard with his points from the 200 free earlier in the meet. We see this as just the beginning of what is to come for the CC team.”

In addition to his first appearance at the NCAA Championships, DeGayner set a trio of school records and posted the team's season-best time in six individual events and four relays.
