CC suffers first loss against Roanoke

Colorado College lost for the first time this season, dropping a 12-5 decision against Roanoke College on Saturday morning in Washington D.C.

Complete stats for the neutral-site game at Catholic University were not immediately available.

Roanoke scored the first four goals of the contest to take control early, but the Tigers tallied back-to-back scores to pull to within 4-2 near the end of the first half. But that was as close as CC would get.

The Maroons struck just before time expired to take a 5-2 lead after 30 minutes, and then scored the first four goals of the second half to build a 9-2 lead.

Roanoke held a 26-16 advantage in total shots, including a 19-9 margin in shots on goal.

The Maroons improved to 3-4, while the Tigers slipped to 5-1.

Colorado College visits Catholic University on Sunday.
