Brittney Moore continues to perform at peak level, week in and week out, as she approaches the end of her collegiate career.
Competing against student-athletes from NCAA Division I and II schools on Saturday, Moore finished in the top 15 of three different events at the University of New Mexico's Don Kirby Invitational.
The Colorado College senior and recent All-SCAC selection claimed sixth in the triple jump (34 feet, 7 inches), 13th in the 400-meter run (59.86) and 15th in the long jump (16 feet, 1/2 inches). Her season-best clocking in the 400 marked the first time she's broken 60 seconds in the event. She also posted a season best in the long jump.
Other CC highlights in Albuquerque included a 16-4 1/4 effort in the long jump by junior Hannah Conconnan, who took 12th place, ahead of Moore, Concannon also finished seventh, just behind her teammate, in the triple jump (33-10 3/4).
Freshman
Nikki Steinsiek was 14th in the 800 meters (2:25.69). Sophomores
Rebecca Thompson (5:18.86) and
Maggie Harkins (5:22.27) were 16th and 17th, respectively, with individual PRs in the 1,500 meters.
On the men's side, sophomores David Wilder (4:17.12) and Caleb Fergin (4:24.86) also concluded their 2010 season with personal records in the 1,500. Wilder finished 17th and Fergin 20th.
