Tigers set personal records at Occidental

Devin Nadar lowered her personal best in the 5,000 meters by more than 43 seconds, just one of several personal records set by the Tigers on Saturday at the 2010 Occidental Invitational.

Nikki Steinsiek also took advantage of competing in a star-studded field that included competitors from all three NCAA Divisions and chopped 5.79 seconds of her best effort in the 800 meters.

Steinsiek finished 23rd with an effort of 2:19.90, which was only .68 seconds out of 18th-place. Nadar's time of 18:51.88 was good for 36th place.

Brittney Moore took ninth place in the triple jump with a leap of 35-04.00 and 14th in the 800 meters in a time of 60.16.

Hannah Concannon sailed 16-08.50 to finish 11th in the long jump, an improvement of 4.25 inches from the previous week at the University of New Mexico.

The Tigers have one more opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships, next weekend at the Emporia State University Twilight Qualifier.
