Anderson takes 7th in SCAC debut

2011 SCAC Championship 1-meter diving results

Reggie Anderson took seventh place in the 1-meter diving on Wednesday night in the first event of the 2011 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Conroe Independent School District Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.

Anderson completed his 11 dives with 353.70 points, which was only 2.15 behind the score posted Centre's Travis Adams and 5.65 points off the fifth-place total of 359.35 turned in by Rhodes' Ryan Berger.

CC's Daniel Condren's score of 272.10 was good for 12th place. Condren finished 6.80 points ahead of DePauw's Dean Contreras.

Trinity's Kevin Martin defended his title with an NCAA qualifying and SCAC record score of 515.25. TU's Andrew Snead was third with 443.20 points, followed by Centre's Ryan Rougeux at 424.80.

The four-day meet continues on Thursday morning with the women's 1-meter diving. The swimming events begin after that with the preliminaries in five races, starting with the 200-yard freestyle relay.
