Senior Jordan DeGayner won his third individual event on Sunday, but Colorado College was unable to close the gap on Colorado Mesa University and finished second at the 14th Annual CC Classic at Schlessman Natatorium.

DeGayner got the Tigers off on the right foot when he won the first event of the day, taking the 50-yard freestyle in a season-best time of 21.20. Sophomore Kevin Dorff took third by touching the wall in 22.23.

That turned out to be CC's only victory of the day.

Sophomore Michael Bennett supplied the first of three second-place finishes in the 100 butterfly, coming home in a time of 54.88.
Junior Tyler Larrabee took second in the 200 breaststroke in a season-best time of 2:19.89. He trimmed 2.19 off the mark he set on Nov. 12.

The Tigers also set a season-best time in the final event of the meet, the 200 free relay. Dorff,  DeGayner and Bennett combined with junior Flynn McGuire to post a time of 1:27.88.

Colorado College swims at home for the final time next weekend when McMurry University visits Schlessman Natatorium for dual meets on Friday and Saturday.
