Sophomore Brenna Day won an individual event and swam a leg on a winning relay team to help the Tigers claim the team championship at the 14th Annual Colorado College at Schlessman Natatorium.

CC completed the three-day meet with 808 points, 228 more than Colorado Mesa University.

Day got the Tigers off to a fast start when she finished first in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.14, lowering her season-best effort in the event by .89 seconds. Freshman Abby Sawyer took second with a clocking of 26.01.

In the final event of the meet, Day and Sawyer teamed with freshman Emma Holmes and senior Carrie Markel to win the 200 free relay in a season-best time of 1:43.35.

Freshmen Emma Houghton and Katy Martinez finished second and third, respectively, in the 100 backstroke. Houghton's season-best effort of 1:04.91 trimmed .71 seconds off the time she turned in on Dec. 10.

Sophomore Molly Brown's time of 2:45.37 was good for third place in the 200 breaststroke, while freshman Kelsey Smith took third in the 500 free with a clocking of 6:33.22.

Colorado College competes at home for the final time this season with dual meets against McMurry University next Friday and Saturday.
