Danielle Wahl was named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimmers of the Week for her record-breaking performances at last weekend's Colorado College Classic.
Wahl, who was making her collegiate debut, broke three varsity records while leading CC to the team championship.
In the first swimming event of the meet, Wahl won the 1,650 free with a time of 17:58.94, which was 21.79 seconds faster than the previous standard also set by Leanne Dalton in 2006. Her 1,000-yard split of 11:15.92 was 29.31 seconds better than Dalton's record time for that distance, which also was set in 2006.
Wahl also broke the school record in the 200 butterfly by 3.69 seconds with a winning time of 2:15.33.
The first-year swimmer also helped the Tigers win the 400 medley relay in a season-best time of 4:19.61, and finish the meet with a victory in the 400 free relay with the year's top effort of 3:52.66.
Colorado College concludes its home schedule this Friday and Saturday when McMurry University visits Schlessman Natatorium for a pair of dual meets.
