Colorado College's freshmen and sophomores won all nine individual swimming events and swam seven of the eight legs on the Tigers' two winning relay teams as CC raced to a 153-53 victory over McMurry University on Saturday afternoon at Schlessman Natatorium.

Freshmen Abby Sawyer and Danielle Wahl, and sophomore Brenna Day recorded two individual victories apiece to help the Tigers win every event for the second day in a row.

Sawyer lowered her own team-best time in the 200-yard breaststroke by 1.45 seconds, touching the wall in 2:42.51 to win the race by more than 23 seconds. Her first victory was in the 50 breast with an effort of 34.01.

Day finished first in back-to-back events, taking the 50 freestyle in 25.97 and the 100 free in 55.77.

Wahl, who joined the squad in January, added to her string of impressive performances by winning the 200 free in 2:05.74 and coming back at the end of the competition to post the team's top time of the season in the 500 free in 5:24.39.

Wahl swam the third leg on CC's winning teams in the 400 medley and freestyle relays, while Sawyer and Day were part of the victorious medley effort.

Colorado College also received individual victories from sophomore Molly Brown in the 50 backstroke (31.47), freshman Emily Houghton in the 200 back (2:22.85) and freshman Kaitlyn Drtil in the 50 butterfly (29.50).

Junior Nicole Fazio won the first event of the day, claiming the 3-meter diving with a season-best score of 415.72.

The meet served as the Tigers' final tune-up for the 2012 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships, which begin on Feb. 15 in Rockwall, Texas.
