Senior
Deanna Thirkell was named to the 2012 all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis team on Monday for her outstanding performance on the court this season.
This was Thirkell's first time being named to the all-SCAC team after previously being named to the honorable mention all-SCAC team during her freshman and junior years.
Thirkell had her best collegiate season in 2012 as she finished her senior year with a 16-6 record at No. 1 singles and a 13-9 record at No. 1 doubles. Her 16 wins in singles and 13 wins in doubles led the team this season and marks career-highs for the senior.
Thirkell, the lone senior on the team this season, also earned SCAC Player of the Week honors earlier in the season after beating a tough Division II Metro State College of Denver and Hamline University during Mar. 12-18.
Thirkell finished her career at Colorado College with a 49-26 record in singles play and a 46-30 record in doubles play over four years.
The Tigers ended their season with a 13-9 record and matched their best finish in the SCAC with a fifth place showing at the conference tournament this year.
