Tigers Add Pair to 2017 Recruiting Class

Colorado College added two more recruits who will join the incoming class for the 2017 season, head coach Geoff Bennett announced today.

The two newest Tigers who will continue their academic and athletic careers at CC are midfielder Abigail Gray of Princeton, N.J., and goalkeeper Jade Odom of Colorado Springs.

Gray played club for the Players Development Academy, which competes in the National Premiere Leagues. She helped PDA win the regional title and advance to the national championships in 2014. Gray also led her team to the regional semifinals in 2016 after reaching the regional tournament the year before.

A four-time letterwinner at The Hun School of Princeton, N.J., Gray led the Raiders to the 2014 state championship. The first-team all-state (Prep-A) and first-team all-Mid-Atlantic Prep League selection helped her team to the 2016 regional semifinals as well as the regional level of the tournament in 2015.

"Abigail is quick, technical and likes to play a fast 1- and 2-touch game," head coach Geoff Bennett said. "We see her competing in the midfield as a central or wide player. Abigail should be well prepared to compete after coming from a good club environment."

Odom played for the Pride Soccer Club, where she won a pair of State Cup championships in 2016 and '17 with the Predators '99 and two with the Predators '98 in 2013 and '14. Odom also earned invitations to the U.S. Soccer Training Center from 2011 through 2013.

A two-sport star at Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs, Odom earned four varsity letters in both soccer and basketball. The two-time soccer captain was a second-team all-state selection as a sophomore when she helped the Eagles reach the final four of the state playoffs.

"Jade has a tremendous upside and we are excited to see how she develops at this level," Bennett said. "Jade is very athletic, quick and has a fearless attitude in goal. We believe Jade has the potential to be an extremely good D1 goalkeeper and we can't wait to start working with her."

In addition to Gray and Odom, the Tigers' 2017 recruiting class includes midfielder Hannah Burgo (Colorado Springs, Colo.); midfielder Riley Prillwitz (Portland, Ore.); defender Camille Weaver (Bend, Ore.); and midfielder Jenna Wilt (Frisco, Texas).
